The KEMRI GDAR team held their first meeting of the year to plan for key outputs, stakeholder consultations, and student dissertations. Three of the team members, including Charles Lwanga, Gladys Odhiambo and Lillian Sewe (new member) are pursuing Masters degrees in Public Health, and will be graduating later this year.
Ms Sewe has a degree in Community Health and Development and has assisted Charles L with study coordination activities since 2019. She recently registered for the MPH and has successfully completed coursework. Her proposed thesis topic focuses on the influence of community self-help groups on household food security in Homabay.
The team is upbeat and determined to complete the remaining GDAR activities.
